TEACHING ACTIVITY
“ Teaching and mentoring students is our first priority. The Department strives to provide students an educational experience that will transform them into accomplished globally aware leaders."
Core Values Dept. of Media, Journalism and Film
As of AY 2017-2018 I have taught for five years in the Department of Media, Journalism and Film. I have introduced new strategies for students by creating and amending courses. My classes emphasize information retention, storytelling, ethics, and practice. I have invited a plethora of guests to my classes including news executives and media professionals, and have provided opportunities for learning outside of the classroom via field trips. My students have been able to successfully transition from classroom to the newsroom, and several have returned to visit with current students. They are armed with knowledge, confidence and the CHSOC motto, "Excellence Without Excuse!"
