Created concept, rundown, wrote scripts, promos, directed meetings, staff and talent for February 2016 initial one-hour live Election special for PBS station, WHUT TV in Washington, DC which broadcasts to 2 million households in the greater Washington metro area. Series of specials will continue throughout 2016 Presidential Election.

Conceptualized, supervised, and reviewed the newscast which consisted of content (video, scripts, reporter packages, rundowns from students primarily in my section of NewsVision) and production. Served as the initial contact for NBCUniversal to attain sponsorship for the program, valued at $5,000.00

Supervised staff of twenty full-time and part-time managerial and union professionals, including Engineering, operations, director and supervisors, students and other faculty, to deliver a quality-controlled broadcast which met the PBS station's stringent technical broadcast qualifications.

Write, manage, and plan segments and content for the CNN Domestic newscasts and global team of more than 4,000 professional staff based at the network’s world headquarters of Atlanta, GA and Washington, DC bureaus.

August 2016           Executive Producer              NABJ NAHJ TV Newscast Washington, DC Organized, executed newscasts broadcast at the largest convention of minority journalists. Planned students' meeting with anchors and management, as well as anchor auditions and recording sessions. Organized newsroom. Scheduled meetings, story assignments, helped create rundowns for newscasts, and supervised any post-productions.  Held meetings with other mentors and students before and during the convention.

2017 Advanced Summer Faculty Research Fellowship (Accepted) Documentary project:  Pageantry and Politics of Miss Howard University" This grant will help fund a documentary to capture the personal accounts of former Howard University queens during the 1960s and 1970s. (Sole author) ($15,000)

 

2016 NewsVision Newscast on WHUT – NBCUniversal sponsorship. Requested and received sponsorship by NBCUniversal for second recording of the capstone broadcast journalism “as live” 30-minute newscast recorded and broadcast on WHUT TV to an audience of 2.5 million viewers.  ($4800)
